Slovenian Rectors' Conference at a glance

The Slovenian Rectors' Conference is a body entitled to represent universities and to protect their interests. It may deliver an opinion on any issue with relevance to the operation of the higher education system and make proposals for decision-makers or those in charge of preparing decisions. The association was formed in the year 2005. It's activity is supported by the Secretariat.

National cooperation

The Slovenian Rectors' Conference is entitled to pursue the following activities, in particular:

• to promote co-operation between the universities and the Government;
• to conduct research, to compile documentation, to elaborate and present proposals to the Government or the bodies of the Government;
• to establish and maintain international contacts for supporting the internationalization of Slovenian Higher Education;

International cooperation    

The Slovenian Rectors Conference is actively involved in projects of the European Commission and the European Universities Association (EUA):

• EUA European Platform of universities engaged in the Energy/Energy Technology Research;
• Multi-dimensional Global University Ranking project;
• Human Resources Strategy Forum Project (the process of implementation of The European Charter for Researchers and The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers);
• EUA Research policy Working Group (RPWG);
• Survey on New Knowledge Transfer Policies 2009.

In 2008 The Slovenian Rectors' Conference signed the Declaration of Commitment by Slovenian Universities on the Adoption of the European Charter for Researchers and on Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. By signing the Declaration universities members declare their engagement in implementing the values, principles and overall measures as stated in the European Charter for Researchers and The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, adopted by the The Commission of the European Communities in 2005.

The organization is a full member of the European University Association (EUA).
