ZVKDS director visited the University of Primorska and InnoRenew CoE
On Monday, 27 December 2021, Jernej Hudolin, Director General of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia (ZVKDS) visited InnoRenew CoE and the University of Primorska.
He first visited the new InnoRenew CoE building in Izola, which is a unique facility for research and innovation in the field of renewable materials and a healthy living environment. Considering the achieved size of the wooden part of the building, it is also the largest wooden building in Slovenia thus far. ZVKDS is also one of the InnoRenew CoE founders.
He then continued his visit to Koper, to the Servite Monastery, where the renovation work on the roof has been in place since August. Renovation is financed by the Republic of Slovenia’s Ministry of Culture. The work will be completed as planned in January 2022, followed by other urgent tasks, which are a preparation for the realization of the quality renovation of this architectural and cultural pearl in the Koper city centre. Currently, archaeological research and other studies are being carried out, on the basis of which they will ensure the preparation of project documentation for further remediation.
