Orientation days for international students

ORIENTATION DAYS is an event designed for international students at UP to get acquainted with some basic aspects of student life and studying on the Slovenian coast. They take place every September, on the last four days before the start of the academic year.

During the Orientation Days, students:

• meet their peers and fellow students,
• meet the coordinators of the study programmes,
• learn about the environment through an interactive treasure hunt game,
• learn the basics of Slovenian language and culture, and
• With our help, arrange the paperwork for a temporary residence permit.

ŠtartUP

ŠtartUP is a meet & greet event for ALL students of the University of Primorska with which we mark the start of the new academic year.

It will take place on 7 October 2023, from 10 am, in the Žusterna Seaside Park.

At the event, first-year students network with each other and get to know senior students. Also university’s administrative and pedagogical staff join the event to network with students which gives the event a special mark.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THE EVENT?

All the faculties of the University of Primorska and more than 40 local organisations, associations, institutions, and companies will present themselves and their possibilities for extracurricular activities for UP students.

Each booth prepared a fun activity that gets you a stamp on your "StartUP stamp collection card" after you successfully complete it. SportUP (official recreation for students of the UP) will take care of the fun sports activities (badminton, zorbing, "štrbunk", ...). 

The location offers endless possibilities for lounging in the sun, so bring a picnic blanket or bath towel. We will take care of lunch. Since we support Zero Waste management, we encourage you to bring your own bottles and lunch box.

REGISTRATION ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT

 On the day of the event we met first at the registration desk where you will get:

• wristband #OdpriUP | #OpenUP ((wristband colours are separated by faculties);
• first-year students will get a T-shirt OpenUP (newly enrolled students can get a T-shirt just at the ŠtartUP event)
• stamp collection card
