''WELCOME TO OUR UNIVERSITY. ARE YOU A FRESHMAN AND FEEL LOST? NO WORRIES, TUTORS ARE HERE TO GUIDE YOU.''

UP tutors take care of the student throughout the entire period of study. We guide him, motivate him and help him integrate into the study environment and student life. Our mission is to promote collaboration between students, professors, and the social environment, thus advancing together in academic and personal development.

Student tutors mainly offer support in studies and extracurricular activities. We inform tutees about their rights and duties during the study and present them all services at the faculty and UP, which are responsible for resolving various dilemmas and issues. We also organize introduction and social meetings, we help foreign students to solve administrative problems, and we pay special attention to students with the status of students with special needs.

The coordinator of student tutors at the UP level is Alja Polanec.

Teacher tutors advise mainly individually. We help students with their studies with the aim of improving their academic achievements in individual fields of study, advise on the choice of elective courses and answer questions about progression to a higher year, completion of studies, and the choice of mentor in the final work. In particular, teacher tutors are available to students with the status of a student with special needs and together we create an individualized study plan.

CALL FOR STUDENT TUTORS FOR THE 2023/2024 ACADEMIC YEAR

 Dear UP students,

 We invite you to (re)apply for becoming tutors.

 For this purpose, we are announcing on the basis of the Rules on the tutoring system at the University of Primorska places for:

• tutors,
• tutors for foreign students,
• tutors to help students with special needs

 Student tutoring is intended primarily for first-year students who find themselves in a new living and educational environment. Tutors help them with important information and integration into the new environment.

Tutors for foreign students offer support to newcomers who come to UP for exchange or full-time study. Tutors help them integrate into the new environment as well as with administrative and language barriers.

Tutors for students with special needs enable students to adapt more quickly and integrate successfully into the student environment and study.
