8ECM is coming soon: Prof. Dragan Marušič, PhD on calculation
Ahead of the upcoming 8th European Congress of Mathematics - 8ECM, in a series of short presentations we will try to answer the question of how basic mathematical knowledge allows us to understand various topics and issues from everyday life.
Prof. Dragan Marušič, PhD from the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies of the University of Primorska (UP FAMNIT) warn us about the lacking of the mathematical knowledge even where we would not expect such lack. In the present video, he demonstrates by using concrete examples, why mastering percentage account is so important, for example, in the adoption of a law (especially on wages) as well as in the analysis and prediction of the COVID-19 epidemic.
