- Welcomed more than 70 international students, from more than 17 countries
The University of Primorska (UP) has welcomed more than 70 international students from 17 countries this spring semester. On Thursday, 16 February, the Orientation Days started at UP with the aim of welcoming the international students, introducing them to the university environment, presenting the possibilities of extracurricular activities, and introducing them to the city of Koper and the Coast, which will be their home for the next few months.
On Friday, they met with coordinators from the international offices, representatives from different faculties, and tutors, had their first Slovenian language lessons and, of course, tasted Slovenian delicacies. ESN Primorska organised a traditional treasure hunt to help the students explore Koper and its surroundings. Saturday was dedicated to a special carnival with a traditional carnival doughnut tasting and the 13th Istrian Carnival on the streets of Koper.
This semester, most students come from France, Italy, Slovakia, and Turkey. We are also hosting students from Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Spain, from the following universities:
